East of the Sun

She had a strange feeling
in the pit of her stomach,
like when you’re swimming
and you want to put your
feet down on something
solid, but the water’s
deeper than you think
and there’s nothing there.

Learning To Swim Again

If she could fall for him
Over and over again,
She would take those risks.
He was worth
It all.
That feeling
Of learning how to swim
When you’ve been so terrified
Of the water before,
It’s mesmerising.
One of a kind.
And she’d drown
All over again,
Just so he could learn to
Keep her afloat.
