Sucked Back In

I swear,
I pull myself out of the endless pit
In which I repeatedly fall,
Brush the collateral dirt off my skin
And I attempt to mend myself,
After falling as hard as I did.
But then,
A few weeks later
I’m suddenly blindly
By a tempting promise
Inside the voice of a potential love
All too familiar
And I fall back down.
It gets so much harder
To get back up
And dust yourself off again.
